How to Save Instagram Videos Directly to Google Drive

Why Back Up Instagram Videos to Google Drive?
Saving Instagram videos to your phone is fine for occasional downloads. But if you regularly archive content — for content creation, research, or backup — manually downloading to your device and then uploading to Drive is tedious and wastes local storage space.
Our Google Drive integration lets you configure a destination folder once. Every time you download an Instagram video, a copy is automatically streamed directly into your chosen Google Drive folder in parallel with your device download.
How to Connect Google Drive
- Go to the Instavora homepage.
- Scroll down to the Google Drive section below the downloader.
- Click 'Sign in with Google' and follow the Google OAuth prompt.
- Grant the requested permissions — we only ask for the minimum access needed.
- Click 'Select Drive Folder' to browse your Google Drive directory tree.
- Choose your target folder (e.g. My Drive > Videos > Instagram Reels).
- You're done. Every download you make will now also upload to that folder automatically.
What Permissions Does the App Request?
We follow the principle of least privilege and request only two OAuth scopes:
- drive.file — Allows creating and uploading new files into your selected Drive folder.
- drive.readonly — Allows listing folder names so you can browse and select your destination.
We never read your existing files, never share your Drive data, and never store tokens in a database. Tokens are encrypted in an HttpOnly session cookie on your device only.
How to Disconnect Google Drive
Disconnect at any time by clicking 'Disconnect' in the Google Drive section on the homepage. You can also revoke access permanently through your Google Account's security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Troubleshooting Google Drive Sync
- Upload failed: Your Google session may have expired. Click 'Sign in with Google' again to refresh.
- Folder not found: The folder you selected may have been deleted or moved. Re-select your folder using the folder picker.
- Storage full: Your Google Drive storage quota is exhausted. Free up space or upgrade your Google One storage.
- Drive not connected after login: Try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, clear browser cookies and reconnect.
